Dear Family!!!,
Hi, how are you guys doing? I'm
excited to see the pictures. And I'm glad the fam is doing well. I don't even
know where to start!
The days are SUPER long...but filled
with adventure and excitement. Like I said in the letter I'm in a trio of
companions and that has
been kind of exciting. It's a little difficult to coordinate schedules with all three of us, but we have only three in a room instead of six! Praise!

One of my companions, Sister Jones,
is black. And she is hilarious. We have this joke that in the pre-mortal
life she was confused on which side
she was on and started going to Satan's side, but then our district was there going "Sister Jones, wrong way!" (This happens a lot, because for the life
of her she can't remember where we are and just starts walking which ever direction she chooses.) Then Sister Jones replied "Oh my Bad! Bye Lu!". Oh man
she always keeps our district on our toes. My other companion is very spiritual and musical. Then there is me. :) But what's so cool is obviously you can tell that

we have very different
personalities, when we teach investigators or when we're just with each other
we're very united. It's amazing what the Spirit can do to unite different
people.
I love my district. All of us are
going to Omaha. The Elders in my district think it's the funniest thing
in the whole world to make fun of our last name. They can't get over it.
I thought mission were supposed to make young men mature...FALSE! I was doing a
role play with an Elder and the goal was to commit the investigator (me) to
baptism. So during the role play in all seriousness he says "Sister
Curfew, will you commit to keeping your Curfew." Man alive, my district
thinks it's hilarious. Some people's kids...
Oh!! I met an Elder Curfew at dinner
the other day. We tried to talk family history, but alas I know nothing!
He said he thinks he knows G-pa Curfew, and his name is Brandon and he has a
twin brother...so if that rings any bells let me know...It was weird talking to
someone with our last name. I was like Hey! No! That's my last name! Get a new
one! Ha, yeah...:)
The other Elders in my district are
incredible. I have been so blessed to be in the MTC with amazing people. :)
It's been really cool to watch the all of us, especially the Elders,
grow.
The food is good, I don't have to
cook it so I'm not complaining! Thanks so much for the Cliff bars! It has saved
me from starvation in class and my tummy rumbling while teaching
investigators.
So we have this thing called TRC.
Which is where we teach either less active, non-members, or members pretending
to non-members. It's been hard, but good to figure out my teaching
style. The key is to be simple. If you make things complicated your
lesson gets complicated. It's also been great to figure out how the
Spirit speaks to me, and as I listening to the promptings of the Spirit is one
of the greatest feelings ever! We were teaching an investigator named Barbette,
and while we were teaching her she just wasn't listening to us and my
companions and I were all have an internal panic attack. We were
like oh crap, this lesson is not going well, and there was much silent freaking
out. But, the Spirit saved the day. I felt inspired to ask Barbette
a question rather than teach her by talking to her. So I did. By doing
this we were able to figure out her specific needs and teach her not a
lesson. It was a really cool experience. :) (She was just a teacher not a
real investigator, but we've made a goal to be real in all in role plays to
make it a better experience.)
Well, I'm currently doing laundry
and I'm getting death looks from other Sister's who want the computer...Email
is big deal....:)
Tell Aunt Regina thanks so much for
her package! I loved the skirt, and the snacks!!! That was so great of her. :)
Oh! So I get to call you guys before
I fly out to Omaha. We have to be on a bus at 3:00 am and our flight
leaves at 6:00am. So I can call you around 5:00-5:45am...So be awake...:)
Love you guys! Thanks so much for
the letters and all the packages, it has meant a lot. Although it's kind of
tough being in here, and there are a lot of ridiculous rules, I love it. It has
strengthened my testimony and helped me grow so much. I love this
gospel. I love learning of Christ rather than about Christ. A goal
that we have been challenged to do while on our missions is pick a Christlike
attribute and work on one each week. Will you commit to doing that with me
while on my mission? (I'm turning into a missionary)
Tell Blaine to start reading PMG
now! It will help him a lot when he starts to prepare. :)
You guys are the best!! :)
-Love Sister Curfew. :)
