Dear Family,
Don't worry about the forgetting to
email. All is well. :) I also wanted to apologize to you Dad because I
had a Happy Fathers Day letter and everything and I have no stamps...so
it will probably be mailed this week. So I'm sorry that I am wishing you
a Happy Fathers Day late. My bad.
Dad, do you pray before you email me or something? Because
every time you email me about something it's usually what I have been
thinking about for the past week. Get out of my head. ;) haha
So I have been struggling with having patience with other missionaries
that I work with. Until now I have been blessed with missionaries who I
get a long with and have some common sense. But as of late there has
been a sever drought of it...I know, I am rude. But it's true. I will
just have to work on not getting annoyed. So thank you for humbling me
and I will have to work on loving those missionaries.
This week was a good week. It was full of much service. We
started the week by doing service for this referral that we got from a
member. She told us to come in long sleeves and jeans and we are going
to weed the forest behind her house. We thought that the forest was a
figure of speech. Nope. We weeded the actual forest. Why? I have no
idea. But oh well. Service hours for us. The lady gave me gloves that
she used to transplant a cactus plant to another part of her yard. So I
had cactus slivers all over my hand and it took me like an hour to get
them all out. Not a fan.
We taught a lot of powerful lessons on prayers this week. So I
have been studying a lot about Prayer. A talk in 2011 conference really
hit home for me thought. It is called "The Privilege of Prayer". It is
super good y'all should read it. :)
We also got to go to the temple this week. It was amazing as
usual. Except I kind of miss going to the temple alone. Going with a
group is somewhat difficult. Maybe I am just anti social. I don't know.
It was cool though because we were in the
Celestial Room and President comes in and shakes everyone's
hand and talks with everyone. He came to me and he shakes my hand and is
like Sister Curfew stop stressing out you're doing a good job. I told
him I didn't feel like it, but he was like I receive reports I would
know if you weren't doing a good job or not. It made me laugh. It's not
very often we get to talk to president one on one.
Sister McCauley and I also got ourselves into a little
trouble this week...haha. So we have a zone mascot. His name is Wilson
he is stuffed seal from the Omaha Zoo. Anyway, he belongs to an Elder in
our zone. Well this Elder left Wilson behind and we may or may not have
taken him. Then we plotted with some other sisters in our zone and we
took pictures of Wilson doing missionary things with us this week and
used him has a ransom. At the temple trip this Elder was like
interrogating everyone. "Where's Wilson? Where is he?" It reminded me of
Cast Away. Haha oh man. He was so sad. We eventually gave him back
after we guilt tripped him for leaving his precious Wilson behind. Oh
man! This is probably only funny to Sis McCauley and I. haha :) We were
afraid the zone leaders were going to get mad at us but after they heard
the story they were like that's hilarious! I thought all of our leaders
were super uptight. Turns out not all of them are. Praise the Lord!
haha :)
Anyway. I'm running out of time. I am doing well. Missionary
life couldn't be getting any better. We should be setting an
investigator for baptism tomorrow so I will update you on that next
week. This area is taking off. Thanks for all of your prayers and
support. I love you all. :)
Love, Sister Curfew
