.It's really hard to only have 140.00 to live off of for a whole month. Food is expensive here. A loaf of bread is 4.50 and milk is like 5.00. So money goes quick I promise I'm not just  blowing the money you give me. I probably should do the cooking merit badge too...I can't cook for the life of me. Oh well! I'm jealous y'all are going the family reunion. That's something I look forward too every summer.
Transfers are next week. I'm a little nervous because I've been here for a long time...but I'm hoping to stay. I talked to President last Friday and it seemed like he was going to keep me in Holmes Lake for a little while. So I guess we'll just have to see. :)
I will think about what I want for my birthday...I haven't really thought that far ahead...
Love you so much. :)

Dear Family,
Don't worry about the forgetting to email. All is well. :) I also wanted to apologize to you Dad because I had a Happy Fathers Day letter and everything and I have no stamps...so it will probably be mailed this week. So I'm sorry that I am wishing you a Happy Fathers Day late. My bad.
Dad, do you pray before you email me or something? Because every time you email me about something it's usually what I have been thinking about for the past week. Get out of my head. ;) haha
So I have been struggling with having patience with other missionaries that I work with. Until now I have been blessed with missionaries who I get a long with and have some common sense. But as of late there has been a sever drought of it...I know, I am rude. But it's true. I will just have to work on not getting annoyed. So thank you for humbling me and I will have to work on loving those missionaries.
This week was a good week. It was full of much service. We started the week by doing service for this referral that we got from a member. She told us to come in long sleeves and jeans and we are going to weed the forest behind her house. We thought that the forest was a figure of speech. Nope. We weeded the actual forest. Why? I have no idea. But oh well. Service hours for us. The lady gave me gloves that she used to transplant a cactus plant to another part of her yard. So I had cactus slivers all over my hand and it took me like an hour to get them all out. Not a fan.
We taught a lot of powerful lessons on prayers this week. So I have been studying a lot about Prayer. A talk in 2011 conference really hit home for me thought. It is called "The Privilege of Prayer". It is super good y'all should read it. :)
We also got to go to the temple this week. It was amazing as usual. Except I kind of miss going to the temple alone. Going with a group is somewhat difficult. Maybe I am just anti social. I don't know. It was cool though because we were in the
Celestial Room and  President comes in and shakes everyone's hand and talks with everyone. He came to me and he shakes my hand and is like Sister Curfew stop stressing out you're doing a good job. I told him I didn't feel like it, but he was like I receive reports I would know if you weren't doing a good job or not. It made me laugh. It's not very often we get to talk to president one on one.
Sister McCauley and I also got ourselves into a little trouble this week...haha. So we have a zone mascot. His name is Wilson he is stuffed seal from the Omaha Zoo. Anyway, he belongs to an Elder in our zone. Well this Elder left Wilson behind and we may or may not have taken him. Then we plotted with some other sisters in our zone and we took pictures of Wilson doing missionary things with us this week and used him has a ransom. At the temple trip this Elder was like interrogating everyone. "Where's Wilson? Where is he?" It reminded me of Cast Away. Haha oh man. He was so sad. We eventually gave him back after we guilt tripped him for leaving his precious Wilson behind. Oh man! This is probably only funny to Sis McCauley and I. haha :) We were afraid the zone leaders were going to get mad at us but after they heard the story they were like that's hilarious! I thought all of our leaders were super uptight. Turns out not all of them are. Praise the Lord! haha :)
Anyway. I'm running out of time. I am doing well. Missionary life couldn't be getting any better. We should be setting  an investigator for baptism tomorrow so I will update you on that next week. This area is taking off. Thanks for all of your prayers and support. I love you all. :)

Dear family,
Sorry to hear about your knee mom...hope it starts feeling better. Jealous that you're swimming all the time.
A lot of members have nice pools here and I just want to jump in! But alas...something about obedience. Sounds like
the Clearfield center is really nice. I don't really remember where Clearfeild is...but it sounds cool. Yeah you'll have to let me
know about that shampoo and stuff. I don't really have dry hair here because of the humidity...which is super nice.
Well your prayers I think were heard this week! We have 4 new people to teach!! Seriously...this week was amazing. I did my first
church tour. Which is where we teach the Restoration through the pictures on the wall and we had a member do the church tour with us
and we committed her to be baptized on June 21st. It's a soft set because she might move soon...but still she's willing to be baptized and listen to us. She was prepared by members in Indiana.
Then get this. A woman in Kansas named Katie contacted a member in Holmes Lake on Facebook. Katie and gave us a referral for two people living in Lincoln that she knew. :) The referrals came to church and everything and they are really open. When we went over to see them they just let us right in and everything. Plus this ward just rocks and the referrals already have friends and are going out to lunch with some sisters and what not in this next week. Ah...best people ever in Holmes Lake! So we got new investigators without even having to knock on a door! I am a fan of member referrals. This is a foreign concept to me...but I like it! :) Things are kind of picking up like crazy here. We were really busy all week. Most of the lessons we had this week members were with us. It was SO nice. I don't really know what changed this week but I'm kind of okay with it. So yeah. I just hope we can keep it consistent...:)
Ha we also built a pretty epic blanket fort to study in...but unfortunately the duct tape wasn't strong enough for the blankets so it fell...but it
was cool while it lasted. Oh and the Elders somehow got a traffic boot and put it on our car during district mtg...rude. We had to pathetically plead to get them to take it off. So things are going well.
I hit my year mark last week and the Elders are trying to convince me to burn a skirt...I feel like that's really weird though...so I probably won't. Anyway. I'm doing well. The Book of Mormon is the best. The Church is true. God is a God of miracles. Prayer is amazing. PMG is scripture. Prophets and Apostles rock. Love you guys and good luck with your busy summer.
Oh I had a dream that we left for a vacation of some sort and we left Aidan at home sleeping...so tell Aidan not to sleep to much or we'll leave him! :) haha
Love you!

June 9th 2014

Dear Family,
I hope you guys had a good week. :) We had a great week. Full of thunderstorms
and tornado warnings. It was quite intense and I got some awesome pictures of the storms.
Do you remember the family that I talked about last week? Well Whitney is her name and she wants to get baptized. We didn't even ask her! A member did it for us! Sis Spilker actually did it.
She came up to us after church and was like so I invited Whitney to be baptized and she said yes...so is that okay? We were like...Um. YES!!  It was really cool. Members here are amazing!
We did a lot of yard work again this week. It's just that time of year. We mow this members lawn because they're older. Well while I was mowing my dear companion dumped water on my back. I may or may  not have earlier dumped water in her face so I kind of deserved it. But this member was watching us and we take turns mowing strips of lawn. And Sis Burch calls me in and is all mischievous and tells me how to work the hose (is that you spell that?) and I soaked Sis McCauley.  She was so mad. She didn't talk to me for like 10 min. Oh it was hilarious. :) She forgave me when I told her it was Sis Burch's idea. She got me back later though by scaring me in the middle of the night. It was quite rude. We have too much fun. :) We are receiving a crazy amount of member support all the sudden. We got another member referral this week. She doesn't want the missionary discussions but she needs help with her yard, but service softens hearts so we'll probably start teaching her.
We had some members take us down to a little town in our area called Firth. And we went to go see a LA who has ovarian cancer. And it's really serious. But she has a faithful visiting teacher and we showed her the "Because of Him" mormon message and it was one of the most powerful lessons I have had on my mission. She is so tired and so upset with what is going on. She has 5 kids and there youngest is 3. She was like I just don't want to die that's all I want. Unfortunately the odds are not in her favor. Her home teachers are going to give her a blessing so that'll be really cool.
Although it was a sad situation, we know that because of Jesus Christ all will be well. Which is what that message portrays. I"m not sure if you have seen it. But I know that to be true. :)
Anyway. It was another great week of my mission. It's crazy to think that a year ago I was just barely getting here and heading to Le Mars with Sis Watson. Where does the time go?
I love and miss you guys. :) I hope you're all doing great. Thanks for all of your prayers and your support they make a difference. If you could keep Whitney and Mr. Binckley (He is a Part Member who is so close!)  in your prayers that would be great. :)
Love you!

Dear Family,
Thanks for the email Blaine. Good to know you're still alive. How are things going? Are you out of school yet?
All of the kids here are... So that's neat.
Well this past week was kind of stressful but all is well. We did a lot of service again. Ha I got attacked by ants
and turns out they bite...so I have red bumps all over left arm...the things I do for people. ;)
So remember when we were skyping and you asked me if I had been sick on my mission and I was like no not really.
Yeah well I got sick this past week. I slept for like a whole day...it was really nice. :) It's amazing what a little water
and sleep will do. I feel much better now. Oh! Thanks so much for the package!!!!!!!! It was awesome. The biscuits were great. :)
My comp says thank you too.
Oh we also had a really awesome zone conference. It was all about "The Family a Proclamation to the World."
President Weston encouraged us to get married right after our missions...and that we need to prepare now and plan
how we want to strengthen our family. They talked a lot about how Satan in the past tried to attack Joseph Smith, The BOM, and
etc.. and now he is attacking the family. So President made us write down things that we want to do in our own families and what
not. It was really good. I never realized that the "The Proclamation" was written in 1997 or something like that. So President Hinckley
knew exactly what to do to prepare us for our day now. I don't really have a plan for my future family yet...so I need to get on that.
Other than that we've been crazy busy. Trying to meet all of the Elders people and working with the people we already had.
Stressful. But great.
I love you guys very much!!

May 19, 2014

Dear Family,
That's awesome Dad that you're getting up early and what not. That's one of the goals I have made at the beginning of my mission was
to keep up the habit of getting up early and studying. That's honestly one of my favorite parts of the day.Well this week has been INSANE! Transfers happened. And we got a call from the Holmes Lake Elders and they both got transfered!
So we have all of Holmes Lake to ourselves...and we moved into their apartment. Needless to say after 10 hours of cleaning up that
apartment I will never ever ever ever get married. Boys are SO GROSS. Oh my nasty.
Anyway, we did a ton and a half of service. I pulled up a bunch of sod and painted a couple of bedrooms and pulled up carpet.
I'm becoming quite the handy woman. I am really appreciative of all yard work you guys made me be apart of when I was at home.
It's has helped a lot. A lot of sisters don't know how to do anything that involves dirt...So thanks for helping me with that!!
So cool story that just happened 10 seconds ago...We met this guy here at the library a couple weeks ago and we talked about
how he had taken a break from Christ and wasn't really interested in coming back. So I committed him to just say a small quick prayer
that night to just ask if God still cared about him. I prayed this morning that Jerry would be sitting next to me when I emailed you guys.
He was!!!!!!!! We just talked for like 20 min about how he prayed and he's starting to come back to Christ. He may not be coming to our church
but he's like I'm pulling down my wall of pride. It's time to come back! Then the other lady sitting next to us was printing of hymns on the computer
and she asked us if we sang Lead Kindly Light. We said yes and she was like where do you go to church? Can I come on Sunday? So we offered to do a
church tour with her. God is a God of miracles. I love missionary work. This is so fun. :)
Anyway, well it's been an exciting and crazy week. Right now I've got allergies from heck...Sometimes I miss Utah. I don't get allergies there.
Love you all.

May 12, 2014

Dear Family,
Yeah it's really weird since I just talked to you guys yesterday but that's alright.
A lot happened afterwards. The tornado sirens went off and we were under severe thunderstorm watch/flash flood/ and tornado watch.
So the weather went a little insane after we called. We were stuck at the members house we were eating dinner at for awhile.
Our District Leader was so funny he kept texting us being like are you okay? are you safe? Where are you? Then we would answer him and then he would double check. He will be an overprotective parent. ;) haha
We didn't get much sleep last night because it was intense thunder and lightening all night...and it's still going on right now...Blech. I'm grateful for the moisture but I'm not a huge fan of all the rain and what not.
So yeah. That's all that's really going on now. I will hopefully have a better email for ya'll next week.
